Report by Linda Bergemann

The sky was overcast upon our arrival at 6:30 PM, but was mostly clear by 8 PM. Thin bands of wispy clouds stretching from east to west persisted through the evening, but did not interfere with observing.

Eight of the 9 visitors were visiting Seagrave for the first time, and were very enthusiastic about looking through the telescopes. Matt White guided the Clark, Bob Janus the 12-inch Meade, and Linda Bergemann was the greeter.

Observers at the Clark were able to view Saturn, Albireo and Vega. Several loud “wows” were heard during the evening. Observers using the 12-inch Meade were able to view Albireo, M57 (Ring Nebula), M15  (globular cluster), NGC 457 (The Owl open cluster), NGC 7789 (Caroline’s Rose open cluster) and M31 (Andromeda galaxy).

For a night that started out questionable, the evening went well.
