Women's Wilderness Weekend

The Women's Wilderness Weekend was held at the URI Alton Jones Campus. It's was not the easiest place to find in the dark, but it was well worth it. Alton Jones is located several miles off of Route 102, in West Greenwich, RI.
The skies were great, the temperaturewas very comfortable, and we had a beautiful first-quarter moon. Skyscrapers supplied 6 telescopes for the occasion. We were located in a large field, several hundered yards from the main complex. The women would come in small groups to use the scopes.
No one was disappointed with the views. Over the evening, about 30 people looked through the scopes. We stayed several hours and called it a night.
