It was a fairly cloudy night, but Jim Hendrickson and Francine Jackson went to River Bend for the monthly Friday night observing on August 29th. As this was the night after the lunar eclipse, the Moon would have been a beautiful sight, and it was – when the Moon peeked through the clouds. The dozen persons who came were happy to see the Moon whenever it was visible. One of our friends, Ruth Gravel, mentioned that often a cell phone can be used to record memories of their visits. Although the Moon wasn’t a good sight that evening, Ruth did show her previous image of Jupiter.
The night wasn’t the best for viewing, but we still have several scheduled to look forward to.
